Annual Garbage Fees Due

Garbage collection fees, from all property owners and businesses, are now due for payment says officials from the Department of Environmental Health (DEH).
Garbage fees are collected twice yearly, in January and July. However, owners have the option of paying their garbage fees in full in January.
"Customers now have the convenient option of paying their garbage fees by debit or credit card in Grand Cayman. This is in addition to using cash or cheque," says Director Roydell Carter. "The DEH aims to make it as convenient as possible to pay our fees."
DEH officials are asking the public to pay their fees on time, and where amounts are outstanding, to make arrangements with staff for payment plans.
In order to prevent postal invoice delivery delays, the public is urged to contact the DEH on 949-6696 to update their mailing addresses. Additionally, anyone who by the end of January has not received a garbage fee invoice in the mail is advised to contact the department immediately.
However, property and business owners who have already paid their garbage fees in full may disregard this notice. The DEH also acknowledges the cooperation of those citizens who regularly pay their fees in a timely manner, and thanks other civic-minded persons who are currently in the process of paying.
Garbage fees are prescribed in accordance with the Public Health (Garbage and Refuse Disposal) (Amendment) Regulations, 2002.

Here's how to pay your garbage fees.
- At the Department of Environmental Health, in the Cayman Islands Environmental Centre located at 580 North Sound Road. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
- On the Sister Islands, garbage fees are payable at the District Administration Office.
- At all post offices in Grand Cayman.
- Address the payment to the Department of Environmental Health, P.O. Box 1820, Grand Cayman, CAYMAN ISLANDS KY1-1109.
