All persons involved in the sale, handling, preparation, storage and delivery of food for public consumption should receive the requisite training for their job activities. As the agency responsible for food safety, the DEH has developed and implemented a basic food hygiene training course for various groups of workers within the food industry.Targeted groups include: chefs, food servers, managers, food importers and suppliers. Through this course, participants are provided with up-to-date information on a wide range of food hygiene topics including:                                   

  • Bacteriology
  • Cleaning/Sanitization
  • Temperature Control
  • Cross Contamination
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Hygienic & safe food preparation
  • Food storage
  • Pest control

This basic Food Hygiene course is offered on a bi-monthly basis. Its duration is 6 hours and costs $15 per participant.
